Dennis was born and raised in Saskatchewan and started his business career in a general Store in Cochin, Saskatchewan owned by his uncle. He soon purchased the store and while living in North Battleford, Saskatchewan he also partnered to purchase a Dodge & Chrysler Jeep Dealership, a Home Hardware Building centre, a home construction company, a commercial bingo gaming operation and was involved in several other ventures.
In 1991, Dennis moved his family to Vernon, BC and partnered with his cousin Kevin Bird to open K West Equities Corp. They started, and still continue to build several housing developments in Kelowna, Vernon and Westbank.
Dennis was also one of the three partners that founded Centre Group Commercial Reality, which is now owned by Colliers International.
Dennis is looking forward to the new Smart Studio Project with Kevin; Cambridge House located on Highway 97 and Ethel Street.
Born in Kelowna, B.C., Kevin Bird has been involved in business since he was in his early 20s. His first venture was in the cedar roofing business in the early 1980’s. After 10 years of the roofing business, Kevin Bird and his cousin Dennis Pirot started K West Equities Corp.
Since the early 90’s, K West has built over 1100 residential homes in the Kelowna area.
Upon realizing the need for affordable housings in 2016, Kevin Bird and Dennis Pirot have decided to move their focus to smart studios. Their first project is Cambridge House on the Corner of Highway 97 and Ethel Street.
Callista was born and raised on a farm in Saskatchewan and acquired her accounting degree in Edmonton, Alberta. Her accounting career has exposed her to various different business including non-profit organizations, public utility distribution, public accounting, wholesale distribution, retail sales, service and supply and the wine industry in both Canada and the US.
Callista has been in Kelowna for the past 11 years and is now employed with K West in the home building industry and will continue to work as the controller for Boardwalk Housing Corporation.
James was born in Manitoba and was raised in Ontario. His Construction career began with Ontario Hydro Design and Construction as a Carpenter Apprentice. He attained his Journeyman Carpenter Certificate, ISO Quality Assurance Program Certificate, Certified Construction Superintendent Certificate and Corporate Safety Officer Certification. He was promoted through the ranks to a Superintendent level overseeing the construction of four Reactor Buildings and Tritium Removal Facility at the Darlington Nuclear Facility in Bowmanville Ontario.
James was the corporate Safety Officer at the decommissioning of R.L. Hearn Generating Station in Toronto. He left Ontario Hydro to pursue a career with Cana Construction and Ellis Don as a Superintendent on High Rise Office Buildings and Hospital Retrofit projects in Toronto Ontario. He relocated to Kelowna in 1994 and launched his Construction Management Company, Sunwest Project Management which specializes in Residential and Commercial Construction projects.
Tim Brown is originally from Toronto and Montreal and has lived and worked in the Okanagan for the past 30 years. He attained a Bachelor of Arts degree from UVIC and Juris Doctor degree from the University of Manitoba before being called to the bar in 2001. Tim is a partner with Porter Ramsay LLP in Kelowna, BC and has been with that firm for 16 years. He specializes in all aspects of real estate law with an emphasis on real estate development. He has been involved with many large and small scale real estate developments and thousands of real estate transactions over the years. Tim is married and has 6 children and enjoys travelling, hockey, golf, jazz music and good wine and food.
Chris is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and is a partner with Crowe MacKay LLP Chartered Accountants in their Kelowna office and is President of Crowe MacKay Consulting Ltd. Chris joined the firm in 1982 and received his CGA designation in 1987, his CA designation in 1992, his CFP designation in 1998 and has completed the CICA in depth tax program.
Chris has assisted his clients in achieving their goals in many industries over the past 34 years and has extensive experience in the construction industry and in manufacturing.
Rob has been a leader in the new home residential real estate sector for over 24 years.
Rob began his career with a new home real estate research firm in Toronto, Ontario, expanding to marketing and sales representing a variety of developers and builders. He headed the sales and marketing division of a premier new home builder in Toronto, responsible for the sales of several high-profile condominium, golf course, and low-rise projects throughout the Greater Toronto Area. Rob relocated to the Okanagan in 2004 as vice-president for a highly successful and accredited sales and marketing company servicing many high-profile projects throughout Western Canada and the US. In 2006, Rob formed Tactx Project Sales & Marketing Inc. and as Principal has introduced a number of leading Okanagan projects including Lakeshore Place & Lakeshore Three in Penticton, The Madison in Kelowna, and Terravita in West Kelowna.

Robert William Halifax
Robert (Bob) Halifax was born and raised in Saskatchewan and attended the University of Saskatchewan. He received a Bachelor of Arts in 1969 and Bachelor of Law in 1972. He was admitted to the Law Society of the Northwest Territories in 1973 and the Law Society of Alberta a year later.
He was appointed a Judge of the Territorial Court and in 1989 was appointed Chief Judge of the Northwest Territories, which position he held until retirement in 2003. Bob has been involved in Judicial Education for many years as well as being a guest lecturer at a number of institutions in Canada and the United States. He has also served on a number of public and private boards after retirement. In his spare time he enjoys golfing, fishing and hunting as well as world travel. He recently relocated to the Kelowna area in 2014.
Francisco Carreón is a licensed architect in México. He holds a Bachelor degree in Architecture from the National University of Mexico (with special honors) and a Diploma in 3D Animation and Visual Effects from Vancouver Film School.
Francisco Carreón is a creative professional with varied experience in architecture, visual effects, motion graphics and digital media and education. He is always on the lookout for new challenges both technically and artistically.
A 40 year hospitality industry veteran, Frank was recruited to the Okanagan to operate Kelowna’s prestigious Grand Okanagan Resort and Conference Centre. As General Manager, he implemented changes and developed the Grand Okanagan to becoming the top hotel in the interior of British Columbia. He also oversaw construction of the hotel’s new tower that brought the number of guest rooms to 395.
Prior to moving to the Okanagan, Frank was the Vice President of Operations for Coast Hotels and Resorts where he was responsible for the operation of 19 hotels located throughout British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec. A well-travelled industry professional, other career highlights include management positions at the Chateaux Laurier in Ottawa, and high end resorts in Switzerland, Spain & Italy.
Born and trained in Switzerland, Frank is fluent in English, French, and German and has a working knowledge of Spanish, Italian and Portuguese.
